After a week long delay to the planned start date due to Covid, I am all set to head out tomorrow on my 48 states road trip across USA. My Tesla Model 3 is ready to go, loaded up with the charging accessories. I filled it up to 100% charge at the local supercharger this morning. Plenty of last minute chores - packing, laundry still to finish up. After cooling my heels at home for ten days, I am raring to go.
I am removing some of my detours to recover about 4 days of the delay back. I no longer plan to go to Mt Lassen National Park, Olympic National Park, Enchantments hike. I am also planning to skip Montreal, Canada. I definitely plan to go back to these places some other time. The updated route plan:
There is a heat wave all over California right now and expected to stay for the next 5 days. I should be able to escape some of it, since it is a lot cooler in Washington state. There are also a couple of active forest fires in Northern California that are not too far from I-5, the freeway I am planning to take. I am hoping for a clear route the next 2 days and be able to avoid the fires and the worst of the smoke.
If you want to make God laugh, tell him about your plans. Now that He is happy, go traveler.
